So... I Golf Now.

Two months ago, if you asked me what my hobbies were...I'd have no answer.

Sleep.
Run errands.
Work.
Repeat.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I didn't have a hobby of my own.

The funny part?

Golf had been around me for years.

I've treated golfers of all ages—from hockey players in the offseason to retirees.

I just never imagined I'd become one.

  1. Then one of my patients changed everything.
  2. He's a former collegiate and professional soccer player who traded cleats for clubs.
  3. I casually said, "We should go to the driving range sometime."
  4. He actually took me up on it.

We booked a bay at Fairways & Dreams Indoor Golf in Conshohocken.

Thankfully we met Logan, who put us in a bay tucked away in the back.

No audience. No pressure. Just room to learn.

A few simple coaching tips from Logan later I was able to carry the ball over 120 yards....and I still hadn't touched a driver yet.

Good coaching doesn't overwhelm you. It meets you where you are.

Some days I think, "I've figured this out."  The very next swing reminds me...nope.

Sound familiar?

Recovery works the same way. Learning isn't linear. You improve because you keep showing up, making small adjustments, and trusting the process.

  1. I'm still a beginner. I still have a lot to learn. But I'm having fun.
  2. So yes...I golf now.
  3. And I have a feeling this is just the beginning.
